October 15th has been set as the release date for the first edition of our WorldScout Road to Discovery e-Guidebook Series.

‘Road to Discovery: Modeling’ is my comprehensive, insider’s view on how to really get discovered in the modeling industry.  It’s simpler than you think. Most of what you think you know about getting discovered is really just hype. For example, I’ll tell you: how to get discovered for less than $20; what to NEVER say to an agent or scout; and why you might be better off gaining 20 lbs than losing it.

It’s a New Day, It’s a New Dawn…It’s WorldScout!

“The last thing the world needs is another talent scouting company.”

I have to say I’m inclined to agree with that….and I’ve had a 20 year career as a model and talent scout. The talent scouting business has, over the years, created a behemoth rife with overpriced events and smarmy, illegitimate ‘scouts’. Do I believe that ALL such companies and individuals fall into this category? Certainly not. But the negative connotation is so deeply ingrained into the American public that even seasoned industry professionals feel a twinge of distaste when hearing a whisper of the phrase ‘talent scout’.

But it doesn’t need to be this way. It just takes one to commence reform. One person. One idea. One company. The way we see it, it’s time to build a better wheel. It’s simple really. Just change the equation and a new formula will follow. So we did.

WorldScout has a lofty vision. Its one of pure intention & honest integrity. We’ve created an entirely fresh  concept inspired by our desire to rid the world of the proverbial scouting scam. The only way to do that, in our eyes, is to provide a service and resource that makes it impossible for the bad guys to continue charging exorbitant amounts of money to people with dreams only to give them an empty paper bag in return. And the only way to do THAT is to offer it to you for little to no money at all!

So that’s exactly what we’re doing. When we reach 10,000 followers / members / fans in a metropolitan area we will bring the talent industry to your city to meet YOU. That’s all we need. 10,000 people to become a free member on our site. No purchase necessary.

Voting will begin Feb. 1st.  Just vote for the metropolitan area nearest you and the first city to reach 10,000 votes will host the premiere WorldScout convention in summer 2011. We’ll deliver agents, casting directors and even a celebrity or two…all you have to do is show up!
